We are a social enterprise that uses deconstruction & woodworking to create jobs & prevent recidivism.

job skills for men just released from prison

Soteria at Work is the social enterprise of Soteria Community Development Corporation (CDC), a non-profit in Greenville, SC that uses the tools of Community Development to economically empower men and women out of the generational cycles of poverty and recidivism.

Through woodworking and deconstruction projects, Soteria at Work teaches men how to tear down old homes, reclaim the wood, and create beautiful pieces of furniture. They learn how to take something that would have been discarded and unveil new beauty and purpose.
